We had the on-location services by the Consular Division of the Embassy of Japan in the gymnasium of the Newport News Japanese School. The event was very convenient for Japanese in this area because they could renew their passport, register for overseas election, making it unnecessary to go to Washington DC. A lot of Japanese people utilize this service every year.
A used book and bazaar are also held by the Newport News Japanese School. Many people look forward to coming to these events, and this year saw a large increase in participation.
