On-location Services by the Consular Division of the Embassy of Japan (Newport News)

October 15, 2011

We had the on-location services by the Consular Division of the Embassy of Japan in the gymnasium of the Newport News Japanese School. The event was very convenient for Japanese in this area, because they could renew their passport, register for overseas election, making it unnecessary to go to Washington DC.  According to staff members of the Consular Division of Embassy of Japan, 40 people  renewed their passport this year and more than 60 people took advantage of this services including registering for overseas election or issuing other certificates.

A used book fair and bazaar was also held by the Newport News Japanese School. Many people lined up before the doors opens at 10:30 a.m.
