This marks the fourth year that the Japan-Virginia Society has supported “Japan Day” which was held on Saturday, October 24th in Virgina Beach. The dynamic performance began with Okinawa Eisa and concluded with Wadaiko by River City Taiko. During the show, the performer and the audience came together as one to sing a Japanese song, creating an incredibly exciting atmosphere.
Virginia Economic Development Partnership hosted an evening of networking, hospitality, and conversation to welcome the Japan Chamber of Commerce & Industry delegation to Richmond. Around 40 people including members from the Japan-Virginia Society attended and enjoyed an exceptional dining experience at Daisy's while celebrating the longstanding relationship between Japan and Virginia.
A delegation of more than 40 Japanese companies led by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) visited Richmond, Virginia late August 2026. A day of meetings focused on economic development opportunities in the digital infrastructure, energy, advanced manufacturing, and technology sectors — with a tour of a data center and related business opportunities. Greater Richmond Partnership (GRP) closed the day by hosting a reception attended by many members of the Japan-Virginia Society.
